Train on a virtual detection system using a notebook computer
The virtual detection system is used for training. It generates an RF spectrum from an emulated RF signal generator or a provided virtual EUT (Equipment Under Test). The system provides a digital oscilloscope, tunable TEMPEST receiver, non-tunable TEMPEST receiver, True RMS voltmeter, and a raster generator. The virtual instruments are interconnected using a virtual switch matrix.
The instruments are operated by pushing buttons on a touch screen as they would be on real instruments. A USB tuning knob tunes the receiver, and a mini USB controller provides knobs to operate the oscilloscope and receiver functions. All of the functions can also be performed with an advanced mouse, including the same graphical oscilloscope features found in the TEMPEST Analysis System and receiver systems.
